We are thrilled to be partnering up with the Echo Park’s Central City Action Committee (CCAC) to help raise funds and spread the word about the nonprofit’s programs. The CCAC provides both social services to the youth and runs the graffiti abatement program in the area. By providing paid work for local minority youth, they are also providing job experience and after school activities. The money they earn helps those high school students participate in things they wouldn’t normally be able to afford, like sports activities, prom, senior pictures and more. Last year, they removed over 200,000 square feet of graffiti.
There will be a lot of opportunities to learn more about the CCAC in the near future – like next week! The nonprofit is holding its regular Rummage Sale on Monday and Tuesday, April 14 and 15, from 10:30 am – 5:30 pm at 534 East Edgeware Road in Echo Park.
All proceeds go to the youth programs, and all items sold at the rummage sales are donated. Now is great chance for you to do some spring cleaning and donate your unused items to a wonderful organization.
Donations can be dropped off at the CCAC any time Monday through Friday from noon – 4:00 pm. If you need assistance getting large or bulky items to the location, just let us know!
