The team has participated in some cleanups around Northeast Los Angeles, but I'm pretty sure Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell has us beat. The city council rep from Council District 13, which covers Echo Park, Atwater Village, Hollywood, and Silver Lake to name a few, is celebrating his first year in office by documenting on a map all the neighborhood cleanups his office has sponsored in the past year. The results are pretty impressive. ""I am so proud of what we have accomplished," said O'Farrell on his website, "by spending two or three hours working together to improve the look and feel of our neighborhoods."

We agree it's important for community members to participate. The bulky item removal, trash pickup, graffiti removal, tree trimming... all that work means cleaner and safer streets.
